Exhale with a smile

There is something about rocks and snow that makes me take in a deep breath and exhale with a smile.  I do not think this feeling is exclusive to geologists/glaciologists, but can be shared with anyone.  Step away from the screen and the bugs of spring and every other reason that keeps you inside and explore the rocks and/or snow.  I hope to start working with elementary schools to take students on walks through the woods.  I used to work with Stone Environmental School in New England and we would spend a week with inner-city school kids at a ski resort (during the summer) and play games and take walks and talk about the environment.  I loved it, and the kids looked re-energized as well!
