The United States government shutdown (day 10 as of Oct. 10, 2013) has suspended the US Antarctic Program. Does this mean that months or years of grant writing, field-work planning, thesis developing, and medical and travel spending could result in no trip/research/results/thesis? Hope not. With any luck, when the government reopens on Monday, the USAP will be back on track.
